Hi, I'm Jen.
I've been a wedding and portrait photographer in five different states since the late 1990s, and I moved to the Southeast NC Coastal region in 2023. I have always loved photographing historical architecture, so I was drawn to Wilmington: I love photographing the brick, the ironwork, and the live oaks leaning over the old streets.
It started simply. I'd lead friends on informal photo walks through the historic districts, pointing out light and lines they'd walked past a hundred times without noticing. Those walks turned into Coastal Photo Tours — a way to share the way I see the coast, one frame at a time.

Small, intimate groups
We keep tours small so everyone gets attention and the walk stays relaxed.
Book ahead
Try to book a day or two before you'd like to walk. Spots fill, so don't wait too long.
Bring the essentials
Remember water, sunscreen, and a hat — we'll be outside, on our feet, in the coastal sun.
Casual & beginner-friendly
Come as you are. Sneakers, a phone, and a little curiosity are all you need.

A few practical details so the tour goes smoothly for everyone.
A leisurely pace
We'll move through the tour so everyone has time to get their photos. We pace it based on the majority of the group — about 5–15 minutes per block, depending on how much there is to see and how much instruction is being given. If you like to go extremely slowly, you may want to circle back to those spots once the official tour has ended.
Children are welcome
Children are allowed, but at least one adult must be present with them and responsible for them. If a child becomes unruly or detracts from the experience of others, guardians will be asked to step away from the group with them.
Arrival & refunds
Refunds will not be given if registrants fail to show up or are late, and the tour will not be delayed for late arrivals. Please factor parking time into your arrival so we can start together.
